Space Tech Meets Diplomacy

Our Indian MPs are leveling up their tech game! A high-level parliamentary delegation just wrapped up a power-packed 'Knowledge Exchange Tour' in Norway. The goal? Seeing how cutting-edge satellite tech and global collaboration can solve 21st-century problems.

Eye in the Sky: KSAT Visit

The crew touched down at Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) in Tromso. Rajya Sabha MP Sasmit Patra shared that they dived deep into how satellite data is changing the game for:

  • Maritime Security: Keeping oceans safe with real-time surveillance.
  • Sustainable Ocean Management: Protecting our blue economy.
  • Climate Resilience: Using evidence-based data to craft better environmental policies.

Saving the Arctic & Beyond

It wasn't just about satellites. The team also visited the Fram Centre to chat with the Norwegian Polar Institute. They discussed the burning need for Arctic governance and how we can protect fragile polar ecosystems from the impacts of climate change.

Sustainability Goals

To round out the trip, the delegation got a crash course in:

  • Sustainable Fisheries: Insights from the Norwegian Seafood Council on global markets.
  • Regional Cooperation: Engaging with the Arctic Council on sustainability.
  • Innovation: Understanding how Norway balances industrial growth with environmental care.

It’s clear that India and Norway are gearing up for a stronger partnership in space tech, climate action, and sustainable development. Big moves ahead!
