Rebuilding Together: Post-Earthquake Progress

India has officially handed over 84 key projects to Nepal under the post-2015 earthquake reconstruction initiative. These projects reflect our ongoing commitment to our neighbor's recovery:

  • 72 New Health Facilities: Bolstering medical infrastructure across Nepal.
  • 12 Cultural Heritage Sites: Restoring and preserving the shared history and religious legacy of the region.

Tech & Innovation: The Future of Collaboration

It’s not just about infrastructure; the focus is shifting to 'New India' domains like AI and tech. Highlights include:

  • Voice-First Translation: An MoU between Digital India Bhashini and Kathmandu University to create a digital infrastructure for language translation.
  • Future-Ready Sectors: Both nations are eyeing partnerships in startups, information technology, and renewable energy.

Strengthening the Bond

During the high-level meeting, EAM Jaishankar emphasized that the India-Nepal bond is built on more than just geography—it’s about shared trust and cultural roots. From ensuring uninterrupted fuel supplies to planning joint energy/hydropower projects, the partnership is stronger than ever.

"We share a very special relationship, one which is anchored by shared trust and goodwill," Jaishankar noted, setting the stage for a digitally connected future.
